On arrival you will be transferred to your accommodation, Villa Spiros in Laganas. Famed as the home of the sea turtle Caretta Caretta, Laganas will be your base for this exciting ceramics holiday. You will have time to unpack, and settle in your new surroundings.

A little while later your hosts will invite you to join them for an informal welcome meeting and home cooked meal over which you can discuss the week’s proposed itinerary and familiarize yourself with the many things there are to do and see in this diverse, lively resort.

In the evening, you may like to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the unending Laganas beach. Let the sound of the sea and the gentle breeze melt away the stresses of your journey. There are plenty of seaside tavernas if you would like to enjoy dinner, with magnificent views over Laganas Bay.

  • Day 2

Ceramic workshop 1 & beach pic nic at Kalamaki sand dunes

Today your ceramic experience begins. After breakfast your host Antonio will drive you to the ceramics studio, where your course begins. This morning’s activity will last three hours.

Your day continues with swimming at Kalamaki sand dunes, one of the most important nesting grounds of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta. Turtle nests are scattered all along the golden sands, protected by little cages, and watched over by passionate volunteers from the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, who are always happy to share all their expertise on the subject of the turtles, just ask.

Just a little way out to sea the secluded uninhabited Islands of Pelouzo, Cameo and the Turtle Island, provide a stunning backdrop to a spectacular setting. Time, now to truly unwind and enjoy a relaxing morning by the sea. Swim, try a spot of snorkeling to see if you can spy a Caretta-Caretta, enjoy a beach picnic, among the relaxing sounds and aromas of the Ionian Sea. Simple, yet wonderful!!!

In the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dinner at a local tavern in the heart of a typical Greek village neighborhood. Here, meet happy locals who find happiness in cultivating their land and in simple things in life. Relax and let all of your senses enjoy and take in the magic of the surroundings, while the traditional cuisine and local wine happily tantalize your taste buds.

  • Day 3

Ceramic workshop 2 & visit Bohali, the most desired place to live in Zakynthos island

Today after a traditional breakfast, continue your ceramic workshop and art work at the ceramics studio for another 3 hours. Then, visit Bohali, the highest part of Zakynthos town and most desired area to live. Walk through the cobblestone blooming streets of historic Bohali village, take the most beautiful pictures and enjoy a drink or a light lunch over panoramic views of Zakynthos town far below, the port and the Ionian Sea.

Later, return to Villa Spiros and explore the surrounding area. You may like to go for a swim to Laganas beach or simply relax at the villa. This resort offers a great combination of everything a traveler could desire. In the famous sweeping bay, with its shallow, crystal clear water, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and if you are lucky, find yourself swimming alongside the large, graceful loggerhead turtles. Sun beds and seaside tavernas are plentiful if you just want to relax. Go skinny dipping if adventurous enough at the nudist beach at the far end of Laganas beach.

Spend a leisurely evening at Laganas. Down the beach you can find many seaside tavernas and cocktail bars where you may like to enjoy a coffee or your favourite tipple to relax you while the sun goes down on another spectacular day.

  • Day 4

Ceramic Workshop 3 & swimming at Tsilivi beach

Today, after breakfast back to the studio to put the final touches to your works of art, each as individual as the person who created them. After this evening’s class you will have the opportunity to sit in the shade of the trees, sipping Dionysia’s lemonade made from fresh lemons from her garden.

After the class, go swimming at Tsilivi beach, where you can relax, swim and enjoy the many little shops. You will have plenty of time here for a coffee or a relaxed lunch before your return to Villa Spiros.

In the evening, visit Zakynthos main town. First stop is at the Church of the island’s patron saint, St. Dionysius. The huge inside is richly decorated with gold and icons. The saint’s remains are here in a silver casket, which on some occasions is open for viewing. Later, enjoy a gentle walk and get familiarized with the Ionian architecture, recharge your batteries at a café by Solomos square before you loose yourself in the market street to taste and buy local products and delicacies. Before returning back to Laganas, why not treat yourself to a delicious ice cream at locals favourite gelateria.

See the display of machinery from the old days before touring the modern factory with your guide. At the end is a chance to taste a variety of extra virgin oils on village bread and buy their products.
